Dave Whiting | Founder & Director

Dave is an execution and performance specialist with over 20 years' experience leading complex operations and major resource projects. Operating at Director level across multi-asset portfolios, he has delivered in high-risk environments where safety, reliability and performance are critical.

Today, Dave partners with senior leaders to turn strategy into operational performance — combining real operational experience with structured systems and coaching to drive execution where it matters most.

RSGx was experiencing rapid growth, but strategic clarity and leadership capability were not scaling at the same pace. Variability in leadership style, decision-making, and accountability was limiting performance and creating friction across the business. The gap was clear — strong technical delivery, but inconsistent leadership impact needed to sustain growth.

The Solution

PDP designed and delivered a tailored strategy and leadership journey aligned to RSGx's growth ambitions. Through a combination of diagnostic discovery, targeted workshops, and ongoing coaching, we developed leadership capability at both an individual and team level — embedding accountability, clarity, and effective communication into daily operations. The Challenge

A complex mix of Shell employees and contractor supervisors created significant inconsistency in daily safety interactions — toolbox talks and prestarts varied enormously in quality and were largely treated as compliance exercises rather than genuine conversations.

The Solution

PDP developed the Toolbox Topgun engagement — a practical skills-based intensive for 80 supervisors, designed to be self-perpetuating through internal coaches so Shell could sustain and scale the capability without ongoing external facilitation.

Cornerstones Embedded Across Operations
OPERATING DISCIPLINE TRANSFORMATION

The Challenge

Operating Discipline and Process Safety were recognised as strategic priorities, however a consistent, enterprise-wide framework had not yet been fully established or embedded across operations. While strong systems and capable teams were in place, variability remained in how standards were applied across facilities and shifts — driven by unclear accountability, complex systems, and gaps between leadership intent and frontline execution.

The Solution

PDP led an extensive discovery and co-design process to define and embed Operating Discipline across the organisation. Through field-based diagnostics — interviews, DILO studies, and Rhythms & Routines observations — PDP developed a six Cornerstone framework covering leadership, systems, execution, and process safety. The programme combined leadership alignment, structured execution, and in-field coaching to drive consistent application in the field. This programme continues as a priority business goal for 2026.
